Evaluations

The annual General Faculty Performance Evaluation Form can currently be found here, on the CoC Intranet under the Faculty Affairs page and the General Faculty Evaluation. Note that you may need to be on campus networks or the CoC VPN to access this form.

As is the case for academic faculty and staff, research faculty are evaluated once a year, in the spring. If you are working directly within an academic faculty member in one of the schools, then that faculty member will be responsible for conducting and signing off on your annual evaluation. If you are working in TSO or at the College level, your direct supervisor will perform the evaluation.

In the Fall of 2016, the RFAC introduced a revised Annual Evaluation and Goal Setting Form for Research Faculty. In addition to a page asking you to list accomplishments toward the previous year’s goals and drafting new goals for the coming year (Overall Evaluation and Annual Goals), a second form asks research faculty to explicitly reflect on accomplishments in each of the five main areas used to evaluate research faculty for promotion (Activities Relevant to Promotion).

These changes were intended to:

(1) Expose research faculty and their supervisors to the promotion evaluation criteria;

(2) Help research faculty keep track of specific accomplishments relevant to promotion; and

(3) Provide a basis for conversation between research faculty and their supervisors about any additional opportunities that may need to be created to enable the RF to seek promotion should they choose to do so.
